Logistics Assistant at DRC, Hajjah, Yemen

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Assistant in Hajjah, Yemen. The duration of this post is 5 months.

The Logistics Assistant will ensure that the programmatic needs of the field offices are addressed and met in an efficient, timely, transparent, accountable and cost-effective manner.

DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Logistics Assistant will perform the following functions-

  • Follow the procurement procedures and ensure value for money for all the procured works, services and supplies.
  • Ensure that items delivered by the vender are in good working order and following on guarantees.
  • Ensure timely delivery of items and proper documentation of items received from the vendor.
  • Manage, constantly update and share internally the Procurement sheet reflecting all procurement.
  • Keep up to date filing system in Logistics department.
  • Ensure DRC DRC’s Fleet Management Manual are applied in all DRC owned and leased vehicles including proper service and maintenance systems.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet DRC requirements for safety, management of vehicle running logs, booking and assignment of vehicles.
  • Ensure required licenses, insurance and registration of all DRC vehicles are up to date and documented.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Relevant University degree.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in logistics and procurement preferred to be with INGOs.
  • Good command of English and Arabic (written, read, and spoken).
  • Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel & Email).
  • Highest levels of ethics, honesty, transparency, and accountability.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and work load; excellent organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; initiative, sound judgment and dedication.
  • Experience and willingness to work in the field.
