Logistics Assistant at NRC, Tripoli, Libya

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Assistant in Tripoli, Libya. The duration of this post is 6 months.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Logistics Assistant will perform the following functions-

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
  • Maintain asset-tracking documentation, conduct physical checks and ensure completion of handover forms.
  • Conduct small procurements in accordance with guidelines and assist larger procurements including identifying suppliers, gathering quotations and preparing documentation.
  • Conduct daily checks on vehicles, generators and facilities.
  • Arrange scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance.
  • Assist stock and inventory documentation, storage and transportation.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in logistics preferably in a humanitarian context.
  • Experience from working in logistics preferably in a humanitarian context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Working level of written and spoken English.
  • Experience of conducting competitive and accountable procurement.
  • Document management experience.
  • Experience of managing stock and assets.
  • Good IT skills particularly use of email, Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience of Microsoft 365 is an advantage.
  • Nationality of Libya.
