Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Deputy Director General in Manila, Philippines. The duration of this post is 3 years.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Deputy Director General will perform the following functions-

  • Support DG in leading the formulation of strategic plans for staffing, annual departmental workplan, WPBF, and other key results areas for the department, sector teams, and resident missions in line with ADB’s Strategy 2030.
  • Work as required on organization and staffing mix matters, as well as internal personnel matters across the department.
  • Support DG with the overall management of the department in staff matters including performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and succession strategy.
  • Contribute to the establishment of multidisciplinary teams in relation to special departmental tasks, and management of team and individual performance by providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.
  • Help provide coaching and mentoring to teams and individuals and ensure their ongoing learning and development.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree or equivalent, in social sciences, business studies, or any development-related discipline.
  • University degree in social sciences, business studies or any development-related discipline combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of Master’s degree.
  • At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in relevant fields particularly in project processing and administration, regional cooperation and integration, safeguards and other thematic issues.
  • Superior management and leadership qualities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
