United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Field Office in Hakha, Myanmar.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Chief Field Office will perform the following functions-

  • Leading and managing the Field Office.
  • Development and planning of programmes and projects at the sub-national level.
  • Monitoring and evaluating of UNICEF activities and situation monitoring at the sub-national level.
  • Developing the capacity of sub-national partners.
  • Conducting rights-based advocacy and maintaining effective partnerships at the sub-national level
  • Strengthening knowledge management for programmes.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of staff, programmes and organizational assets at the sub-national level.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have –

  • An Advanced University Degree in social sciences, international relations, government and public relations, public or social policy, sociology, social or community development or other related fields, is required.
  • A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years professional development experience, with experience of managing field-level operations or community-based programmes and projects is required, as reflected in the task above.
  • Experience in health and nutrition, education, child protection, social protection or WASH is an asset, as this will enable the candidate to support delivery of UNICEF sector programmes in Chin.
  • Experience of managing or leading multi-sectoral programmes is an asset.
  • Experience of managing or supporting an emergency response is an asset, Experience of managing teams and relevant professional experience in a UN system agency is an asset.
  • Experience of working with local government is an asset.
  • Fluency in Myanmar and English.
  • Nationality of Myanmar.
