Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Supply Chain Assistant (Procurement) in Akkar, Lebanon. The duration of this post is 6 months.
The Supply Chain Assistant (Procurement) is responsible to work closely with programme, logistics and finance colleagues to ensure teams have the goods, materials and services they need to deliver support to displacement-affected communities across northern Lebanon.
DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Assistant (Procurement) will perform the following functions:
- Procure all services, materials and equipment ordered by the programmes in line with the DRC Operations Handbook and in a timely, efficient and transparent manner that achieves value for money.
- Prepare the relevant documents for the procurement of goods and services.
- Participate in evaluation of bids and proposals and make sure the bids evaluation report, technical evaluation, minutes of negotiations and negotiated contract in selection of consultants contain all the facts and information required to justify the recommendations made in the report.

- Ensure that all supplies / materials required for the programs implementation are following an accurate workplan and timeline in terms of request and delivery to sites of implementation.
- Ensure that all orders are tracked from point of planning and request through to final receipt and payment; circulate the procurement tracker to management and programme staff on a weekly basis.
- Ensure all documents are filed appropriately for future audit purposes.
- Constantly search the market for new suppliers that may provide better service or value for money for DRC, verify supplier information and maintain a list of registered suppliers that can be used for regular and emergency procurements.
- Comply with DRC Code of Conduct in all procurement activities and implement corruption prevention measures in conjunction with the Area Logistics and Procurement Manager.
- Support the development of purchase agreements with suppliers for regularly used goods and services, track such agreements and monitor upcoming expiry dates in time for the agreements to be re-tendered.
- Support the Tripoli office procurement team when/if needed.
- Send monthly reports to SCTL which includes (Contract Follow Up, Procurement Tracker, Lease Tracker, Narrative report).
- Participate in the identification of new premises for DRC which might include (Office, Warehouses, GHs) and support in drafting lease agreements, and follow ups with Land Lords.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- Diploma in Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
- 1 year of experience in supply chain management.
- Experience with public procurement procedures and documentation.
- Nationality of Lebanon.
