The Program Manager will be responsible for establishing, managing and implementing the DFAP component of the Food Security and Livelihoods program, which Save the Children is responsible for in the implementation consortium.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Program Manager will perform the following functions:

  • Take the lead in the development and implementation of project activities.
  • Be reassured that Budget Phasing is tracked every month and updated according to the progress of activities.
  • Ensure that the purchase plan is executed according to the plan and updates are made according to the realities of the field.
  • Ensure that the financial, logistical and administrative procedures of SCI and the lessor are scrupulously respected by all stakeholders.
  • Regularly report on the state of implementation of the program including at monthly program review meetings.
  • Draft the periodic or final reports of the projects to be reviewed by the technical advisers and be sure to obtain their sign-off before the report is sent.
  • Ensure promptness of all reports (monthly, periodical and final).
  • Monitor the security in the areas of intervention in collaboration with the Security Manager and the Base Chief to ensure the safe implementation of program activities.
  • Report incidents in the project implementation area on time to the Humanitarian Program Manager and Security Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with child advocacy policy, fraud policy and code of conduct by all project staff and relevant partners.
  • Maintain the values ​​of Save the Children: accountability, ambition, creativity, integrity and collaboration through a role model professional and by sharing information and knowledge and capacity building with colleagues from SCI Mali.
  • Support the recruitment and management of the staff.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Master’s in Existence, Social Sciences or another similar field.
  • At least 5 years experience / expertise in project management in an international NGO, particularly in the framework of the means of existence and vocational training of young people.
  • Quality leadership, motivational techniques, coaching skills, proven experience of supervising and developing a team.
  • Experience in managing the project cycle with USAID programs especially in crisis-protracted / recovery / post-crisis contexts.
  • Effective knowledge of financial and budgetary controls proven experience managing budgets.
  • Solid experience in developing high quality reports for donors and other external stakeholders.
  • Solid experience in supporting national level colleagues to engage in reporting development, systematic collection and correct compilation of useful information / data, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and presentation.
  • Good command of French spoken and written.
  • Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written).
  • Skills to work under pressure and in areas with volatile security.
  • Good knowledge of the computer tool (Word – Excel – Outlook – Power point – Internet).
  • Sensitive to issues affecting children and youth, and ready to commit to respecting and promoting Save the Children’s Child Protection Policy.
