The Project Manager is responsible for project coordination, partner relationship development and management and the development of resources in order to ensure effective implementation of the Gabriel Smiles Program.

The Project Manager will perform the following functions-

  • Partner Relations
    • Maintain and develop mutually beneficial partnerships to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in grant agreements.
  • Program Coordination
    • Coordination of the local Health project, including:
      • Human and material resources, including volunteers.
      • Contributing to planning of the flagship project.
      • Ensuring smooth implementation and continuation of the project.
      • Supporting Operations Officer with the development of the project budget.
      • Supporting monitoring and evaluation of the program, including reporting if needed.
    • Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization.
    • Be the main contact person for local stakeholders.
    • Identify potential project problems and risks and raising and implementing creative solutions.
  • Administration
    • Report on the implementation and development of the project to the Operations Officer and the President.
    • Administer monthly project expenses.
    • Support the Operations Officer with reporting of finances of the project to meet the requirements of the accountant and donor(s).
    • In collaboration with the team, setting up an organization in India and ensuring it meets the requirements for registering a NGO in the country, including all administrative and organizational requirements.
    • Open and manage a bank account.
    • Ensure continual reporting of financials to the authorities according to local requirements.
    • Engage an accountant or other professionals as required.
  • Resource Development
    • Identify new CSR and CSI collaborations and developing relations with potential partners in India.
    • Identify potential funding opportunities in the country and being the first contact for local donors in country of the project.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate level degree in a field relevant to international development, public health or another related field.
  • 2-5 years field experience as a manager of a development project, preferably in India.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Experience in collaborating with partners, and strong skills in developing and maintaining relations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, Hindi and Marathi.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to identify (potential) risks evolving in the field and to solve problems successfully.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and working knowledge of CSR and/or CSI.
