United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Manager – Climate Aggregation Platform in Panama City, Panama. The duration of this post is 1 year.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and management of the Climate Aggregation Platform (CAP) project, providing strong leadership on strategic, technical, policy, and management matters.

UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.

Key Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager will perform the following functions-

  • Management of project’s human resources
    • Responsible for the recruitment, management, performance, and supervision of project team members. This will likely include: National coordinators for the national working groups, Technical experts, and project support staff.
    • Ensure smooth running of the project, builds an effective team, and promotes teamwork and an environment that is conducive to delivering results.
  • Project management
    • Manage and coordinate the implementation of the project activities in accordance with the project document, annual and quarterly work plans and budgets, and GEF Sec and UNDP policies.
    • Accountable for the project’s financial resources, including financial reporting, both internally and externally.
    • Manage and coordinate the project’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan.
  • Technical inputs
    • Provide guidance, oversight and set high standards for the CAP’s technical planning, activities and products.
    • Ensure technical excellence of latest developments and incorporating an up-to-date technical understanding of financial aggregation for small-scale, low-carbon energy across technologies, geographies, deal structures and investors.
  • Partnerships and Resource Mobilization
    • Develop and manage relationships with the CAP’s partners, for example development banks.
    • Represent the CAP at high-profile industry meetings and events, including delivering talks and presentations.
    • Represent the CAP and UNDP in high-profile working groups and task forces.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree in social policy, public policy, politics, economics, development studies or other closely related field.
  • 7 years or more professional experience in international climate finance.
  • Experience at a development bank will be advantageous.
  • Experience with developing countries.
  • Experience in innovative finance for clean energy.
  • Experience managing/coordinating programs and projects, including budgets and human resources will be advantageous. UNDP-specific experience highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, with exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Competency in other UN languages is an asset.
