United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Regional Project Management Specialist in Amman, Jordan.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Regional Project Management Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Advise project staff on the application, interpretation and adoption of corporate policy, guidance and best practice.
  • Support training and internal consulting in project and programme management.
  • Provide a surge capacity for special initiatives and requests from the region assigned.
  • Contribute to the community of practice, make recommendations on policy and tools to HQ Groups.
  • Provide necessary advice and support during the “formulation/kick off phase” of new initiatives with focus on quality assurance and quality control of project documents and progress reports.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree in Project/ programme Management, Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies or a closely related field is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree Project/ Programme Management, Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies or closely related field combined with 2 years additional relevant work experience can be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree.
  • 5 years of progressive experience working in Programme/ Project Management and Operations is required, when combined with a Master’s Degree.
  • 3 years of managing projects in the international development context preferably in the UN,bilateral or multilateral institutions is required.
  • Experience in a consultancy role is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.
