World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Program Assistant in Dakar, Senegal. The duration of this post is 2 years.

The mission of the WHO Emergency Health Management Program is to assist countries and coordinate international action to prevent, prepare for, detect and respond to outbreaks and emergencies, to respond quickly and to ensure recovery.

The purpose of the post is to provide administrative support to the Dakar hub in compliance with WHO policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Program Assistant will perform the following functions-

  • Administration of personnel and, among other things, guidance on staff regulations and staff regulations.
  • Assist international personnel in the importation, acquisition, and registration of their vehicles and personal effects in collaboration with the Country Office Administrator.
  • On the basis of the procurement forecast plan, the Assistant provides support for the execution of related procurement activities and may participate with or on behalf of the supervisor in meetings with suppliers or program units.
  • Manage the allocation of space and office equipment to staff members in collaboration with the administrative services team.
  • The incumbent will act as a remedy in case of absence of a member of the team occupying a similar position or another position within the hub.
  • Take all administrative arrangements for official hub meetings and missions and manages travel plans.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Completion of secondary school in general administration with practical management training.
  • Graduate degree in management.
  • 8 years of experience involving progressively greater responsibilities in administrative management.
  • Experience in a UN System Agency or in an international or multinational structure.
  • Knowledge of Oral or another ERP system would be an asset.
  • The language requirements are interchangeable (English and French).
