United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Head of Implementation Support Unit in Jakarta, Indonesia.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Head of Implementation Support Unit will perform the following functions-

  • Responsible for all ISU service areas including budgeting and financial reporting, grant/contract management, programme specific operational support, audit, output analysis and oversight, in accordance with the ISU charter, UNOPS Rules and Regulations, and under delegation of the Country/BRG REF Manager.
  • Establish and execute the ISU implementation plans in collaboration with the team and stakeholders, including setting objectives, performance measurements, standards and results expected to ensure timely and cost effective client oriented services and efficient application of UNOPS tools, systems, and processes in accordance with BRG REF and UNOPS THOH goals.
  • Lead the different work streams of the ISU, facilitate and foster a solution-focused culture, and promote teamwork and collaboration, providing clear direction, objectives and guidance to enable the teams to perform their duties responsibly, effectively and efficiently, ensuring the highest standards of conduct are observed.
  • Support in building BRG’s capacity in a range of areas including risk management; strategic partnerships development and in the identification of staffing needs including procurement in support for BRG’s work planning.
  • Develop policy papers and recommend policy changes to align ISU operations with the changing business environment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Economics, Development Economics, International Relations, Public Policy Studies, Public Administration, Environmental management, Natural Resources Management or related field required.
  • First university degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the above-mentioned areas in combination with 2 additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • 7 years of experience in project management that combines strategic and managerial leadership in rural development, social development, business development, grant management, executive management or project/programme management planning and operations in a large international and corporate organization.
  • 5 years of building/developing capacity of counterpart or partner organization, particularly public institutions, is required.
  • 4 years of experience in building and leading successful multi – functional teams is required.
  • Prior experience as a Head of Programme and Project Management Office is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required.
