Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Public Partnerships Officer — Intergovernmental Advocacy will perform the following functions:
- Improve intergovernmental engagement as it pertains to G7 and G20 advocacy, in coordination with the Interdivisional Task Teams and iteration/updating of messaging as needed in light of the ongoing COVID-crisis.
- Together with Team Leader of the Advocacy Hub, enhance and deepen political advocacy efforts with the Group of Friends (GoF) of Children & the SDGs, including how the group advocates for and draws attention to the effects of COVID Crisis on children.
- Contribute to and shape political advocacy efforts in relation to the Uprooted Campaign, SDGs, ECOSOC and other strategic intergovernmental forums, including HLPF.
- Monitor changes in social and political dynamics of public sector partners.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- First Level University Degree in one of the following fields: international affairs, social sciences, economics related field, or communications is required.
- Minimum 2 year’s of relevant professional experience, preferably in political advocacy, policy advocacy and/or communications is required.
- Knowledge of the UN System, Member State/Intergovernmental Processes and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
