United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Education in Juba, South Sudan.
The Chief Education will be accountable for the development, design, planning, implementation and management of the Education programme within the country programme.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Chief Education will perform the following functions-
- Manage effectively programme, sectoral or inter-sectoral collaborative partnerships in planning, development and management by supervising, coordinating, or supporting the timely completion of the Situational.
- Conduct orientation and training programmes to help build capacity of Government counterparts.
- Provide authoritative advice/guidance/interpretation of programme policy and guidelines.
- Promote rights-based Education Programming through the formulation of appropriate goals, strategies and approaches.
- Ensure programme, sectoral or inter-sectoral efficiency and delivery through a rigorous and transparent approach to evaluation.
- Coordinates with Operations and Supply staff on supply and non-supply assistance activities ensuring proper and timely UNICEF and Government and all implementing partners’ accountability.
- Provide technical and policy advice to the Deputy Representative/Senior Management on Education programme or sectoral strategies, planning and implementation.
- Ensure exchange of information, experience, identify new strategies and courses of action to accelerate/improve delivery of services and achieve Education programme requirements and objectives.
- Conduct field visits to monitor programmes and collect information.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced University degree in the combination of the selective disciplines relevant to the following areas: Education, Early Childhood Development, Primary Education, Economics, Social Sciences, or a field(s) relevant to international development assistance.
- University degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in the above fields of studies, combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- 10 years of professional work experience at national and international levels in field Education programmes.
- Minimum 8 years of experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Emergency/Non-family Duty Station.
- Fluency in English and a second UN OFFICIAL language.
- Working language of the duty station is an asset.
