World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Data Analyst in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration of this post is 2 years.

The Data Analyst will provide support, specifically related to systems used to deliver travel services, conference services, and other general services to LSS business units for improving service delivery under the respective areas of responsibility, from the business owner perspective.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will perform the following functions-

  • Develop, maintain and update reporting tools that retrieve, combine and consolidate data from multiple sources and facilitates generation of useful, customizable reports for management decisions.
  • Conduct analysis of the relevant systems and processes to investigate and troubleshoot the root cause of problems, identify, evaluate and recommend solutions to the problems, and implement agreed solutions to resolve data quality and consistency issues that arise.
  • Coordinate engagement with ITT in support of LSS requirements for GSM Travel Module and other corporate systems as a result of any changes in travel policy or processes.
  • Collaborate with LSS business users, and work closely with ITT, to support evolution of LSS technology requirements by investigating options and recommending appropriate solutions to address required functionality to meet the evolving needs and nature of the travel and conference services sectors.
  • Act as focal point and interlocutor for LSS for issues that arise related to LSS business systems, – work closely with ITT, GSC and appointed supplier(s) on identification, resolution and testing of issues related to travel processing.
  • Ensure ongoing and timely follow-up with relevant stakeholders and LSS business users on any assigned projects related to LSS systems and data analysis requirements.
  • Carry out other data analysis assignments and develop reports on an ad-hoc basis as needed.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Degree in information technology or equivalent certified professional qualification, with focus on the provision of IT development and services, or information management or related discipline.
  • 5 years professional experience, of which ideally 2 years at the international level, in an information management and systems role.
  • Demonstrated experience in data processing, data retrieval, data analysis, reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with end-user clients and business-area process leaders of business functions to develop requirements for new and enhanced functionality.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating business issues into technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience working within a team environment across business functions.
  • Knowledge of WHO-specific GSM, and more specifically the GSM Travel Module.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Oracle ERP E-Business Suite.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of French.
