United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Manager in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for management oversight of the strategic advice provided by the Programme Services team to private sector fundraisers on how to effectively mobilize high quality income and strategically allocate contributions to UNICEF’s priority programme areas.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Manager will perform the following functions-
- Oversee the Programme Services team’s portfolios of strategic engagement with high-value partners in the private sector, including top 10 National Committees and Natcom- and PFP-managed corporate, foundation and major donors, in order to maximize high quality, flexible income and long-term benefit to UNICEF to deliver results for children.
- Manage team’s programmatic advice and negotiations for financial and non-financial private sector partnerships (including corporate, foundations and major donors), collaborating with National Committees, country/regional offices, HQ Divisions and PFP sections on a range of tasks, including early-stage negotiations to maximize quality income and ensure suitable programme identification.
- Oversee team’s work in preparation of customized programme proposals and other pitch materials, monitors progress in programme implementation and expenditure of grants and ensures appropriate and timely high-quality donor reporting for designated high-value corporate, foundation and major donor partnerships.
- Support knowledge management functions by ensuring that internal and external stakeholders have access to the latest information around UNICEF’s programmes and priorities, and by sharing best practice experiences on how to mobilize high quality, flexible income for the organization.
- Manage a Programme Specialist responsible for portfolio of engagement and negotiations with high-value donors.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree in marketing, economics, social sciences, fundraising, international relations, law, communication, business administration or equivalent.
- First level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in communications, fundraising, programme management, or similar.
- Experience of developing written and presentational materials for donors.
- Experience from UNICEF or other development agencies of work in the field, as well as good understanding of communication in fundraising or marketing, an asset.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Knowledge of one other UN language (preferably French or Spanish) would be desirable.
