United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Analyst in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration of this post is 10 months.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Project Analyst will perform the following functions-

  • Contribute to the development of the Hub’s work on the cotton/textile sector, consumer-driven models for sustainable trade and the sharing economy, among others, from the research and project inception phase through implementation and follow-up.
  • Assist in identifying national-level opportunities for sustainable export of products and green global value chains.
  • Support UN Environment work as related to voluntary sustainability standards, including through contributions to the United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards.
  • Support UN Environment trade-related work in South Africa, further developing a work stream on trade in biodiversity-based and organic agriculture.
  • Contribute to UN Environment trade-related work in PAGE Burkina Faso, liaising with relevant government partners to deliver a work stream on trade in non-timber forestry products in addition to identifying future work streams at the nexus of green economy and trade.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • A Master’s Degree in development studies, sustainable development, environmental policy or environmental economics.
  • Previous exposure to the green economy concept and green economy policymaking, exposure to project management and research in an international environment is required.
  • Previous exposure to the work of the United Nations, especially UN Environment, and demonstrated interest in integrating environmental considerations into economic, trade, and financial policies and practices is a strong asset.
