The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Director, Economic Policy Research in Washington, DC, United States. The duration of this post is 4 years.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Director, Economic Policy Research will perform the following functions:
- Economic research and analysis
- Produce world-class economic research reports on issues related to private sector development, based on new analysis and data.
- Report findings should be relevant to IFC operations, investors, and policymakers, and should contribute to the global dialogue amongst business and government leaders and other thought leaders.
- External stakeholder engagement and knowledge management
- Draw on findings from economic research to inform IFC strategy, Investment and Advisory operations,
- Upstream engagements, and WBG policy work.
- Establish a feedback loop between outreach and dissemination and research to foster innovation and ensure continuous improvement in the relevance and impact of IFC research.
- People and resource management
- Recruit and build a high-performing research unit of PhD economists, data scientists, and other researchers.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must have:
- PhD in Economics and 15+ year’s experience as an economics research practitioner.
- Experience managing a large and diverse team of experienced economists with multiple objectives.
- Ability and willingness to make decisions, take accountability and hold others accountable for delivery.
- Strong track record of publishing high-impact economic reports and articles for external audiences, particularly in topics related to private sector development and IFC’s thematic areas of focus.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, including setting strategic directions for staff, coaching and mentoring junior colleagues, and building a high-performing research team.
- Demonstrate ability to operate in a collaborative manner in a matrixed, highly complex and global organization.
