The World Bank Group (WBG) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Financial Analyst in Washington, D.C., United States.
The Financial Analyst will support the Carbon Initiative for Development (Ci-Dev) in the preparation of projects financial due diligence and carbon price determination.
WBG has set two ambitious goals to push extreme poverty to no more 3 percent by 2030, and to promote shared prosperity and greater equity in the developing world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst will perform the following functions-
- Review, analyze and assess company and financial information including financial statements (cash flow, profit & loss, balance sheets, etc.).
- Prepare and review financial models and use analytical tools to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modeling.
- Review, analyze and assess sector, market and economic information including indicators like willingness-to-pay and ability-to-pay.
- Provide support in the development of climate change related projects as needed.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance or economics is highly preferred while additional background in environment, energy, international relations and/or other relevant disciplines a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in relevant businesses or sectors, including business planning and reporting.
- Working knowledge of a range of financing options and ability to conduct a range of environmental financial analyses.
- Experience in climate change mitigation, adaptation, carbon finance and other market mechanisms.
- Proficiency in the use of advanced functions of MS Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables, scenario analysis), with knowledge of vba functions a plus.
- Active pursuit of CFA, CPA, CIMA, and/or ACCA certifications (or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent speaking and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is also desired for interaction with stakeholders.
