The INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE Group is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Development & Fundraising Officer in New York, USA. The duration of this post is 12 months.

The Project Development & Fundraising Officer will participate actively in project development, research and fundraising tasks related to our work in the Caribbean and the USA reporting to the Deputy Director of Project Development.

The INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE Group is a global not-for-profit and environmental enterprise that innovates, connects and implements practical solutions for sustainable development and climate change.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Project Development & Fundraising Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Conduct research for identifying and assessing funding opportunities (including regional stakeholder mapping and prioritization) and completing funding proposals which may be specific to a climate change or sustainable development related activity or for a particular donor or funding organization.
  • Conduct targeted outreach to institutional foundations, donors and corporate partnership opportunities in the US and globally.
  • Support the drafting of complex climate change and sustainable development related funding proposals, for example to research councils, statutory donors and global funding institutions.
  • Administer the planning, content creation and promotion of fundraising campaigns, such as our ‘Healthy Seas Happy People’ campaign.
  • Manage, maintain and assist with the expansion of contact mailing lists and databases.
  • Manage monitoring and evaluation processes to measure the success of fundraising campaigns and communication channels and approaches.
  • Promote INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE and its work regionally and globally.
  • Assist in keeping the Group’s regional communication channels and knowledge sharing platforms and our central record / database up-to-date with all new media content related to fundraising and project development.
  • Keep a calendar of regionally relevant events and seek out opportunities for promotion of INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE’s regional projects and project development campaigns.
  • Compose articles and other written pieces about project impact stories and evaluation results for targeted communications outputs.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time as determined by the needs of the Project Development or wider Group.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in relevant field.
  • Strong background in climate change and / or international development.
  • Experience or interest and existing skills in non-profit fundraising.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Appreciation for cultural diversity and its impacts on fundraising and communications approaches in different global and regional contexts.
  • High level of innovativeness and creativity.
  • Ability to review, analyse and synthesise detailed and technical documents and reports.
  • Knowledge and research experience in sustainable development and climate change issues, preferably in the Caribbean context.
  • Experience of fundraising (ideally in relation to some or all of the following: charitable trusts, foundation, high net worth individuals, donor agencies, individual giving campaigns) and proposal writing.
  • Experience of working in multi-cultural and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience of working with remote-based teams.
  • Experience of working for a global organization with international standards and expectations, in relation to delivery, implementation and performance.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
